Los Milagros

We scouted out our venue for the World Cup opener on Friday late this afternoon. Had coffee in there.

This place was recommended to us by one of La Mexicana's friends. The fact is that Los Milagros really is an uptown place, perhaps a bit more civilized than I had in mind. (It is all dressed up for fiestas in the photos at that web site.) The management was so kind to us, however, that I am not backing out now. The guys are even going to let us in at 7:00 a.m. so that we can watch the opening hoopla.

Los Milagros today:

Flags of various nations up there in the ceiling, which seems appropriate.

Very good screens.

Great waiters.

A roof that opens up.

Now, as long as the crowd is not overly polluted with gringos, we will be fine. I will watch one of the other games in a real Mexican dump later.

By the way, this is the gym.

Looks just like your gym, right? And it is pretty much like your gym . . . with one exception. There is no air conditioning.

Which has its advantage. At 3:30 p.m., the time when these pictures were taken, I have it nearly all to myself. Everyone else is in and out of there in the morning at this time of year.
